Foodbank SA Apples Program

Last year Glenside Lions donated $12,000 to Foodbank SA for their very successful bananas program. However, the banana crop was affected by weather conditions this year, so Foodbank has replaced bananas with apples from the Adelaide Hills. Glenside Lions have committed another $12,000 this year for the Foodbank Apples Program with $6000 paid in June and the balance to be paid later in the year. Foodbank will distribute thousands and thousands of apples to SA families in need. Apples are a great source of nutrition supplying fibre and vitamins. Apples also work for positive dental health. Glenside Lions continue to work towards relieving hunger in our community.
