Australian Lions Foundation ALF has made a donation of $100,000 to the Lions National Drought Relief Appeal fund and Glenside Lions have contributed $10,000 in August.
The NSW Government says “100 per cent” of the state is now in drought. All of NSW, and about 60 per cent of Queensland is in drought. Last month, the NSW Government increased its drought assistance to more than $1 billion. Figures from the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) show every part of the state is affected by the dry conditions, with almost one quarter classified as being in “intense drought”. Less than 10 millimetres of rain has been recorded during July in the western, north west and central areas of NSW.
