Glenside Lions presented a $10,000 cheque to Sids & Kids at our meeting on 27 April. Kat and Liza from Sids and Kids spoke to us and presented a video of people they have helped. Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden and unexplained death of a baby younger than 1 year old. Most SIDS deaths are associated with sleep, which is why it’s sometimes still called “crib death.” SIDS and Kids SA provides bereavement support for individuals and families who experience or are affected by the sudden unexpected death of a baby or child from conception up to and including age six. They also educate the community on safe sleep practices through our information sessions for new and expectant parents and grandparents and support education for healthcare professionals, childcare professionals and the other members of the SA community.
