City of Burnside Mayor Anne Monceaux receiving the $80,000 cheque from President Alan Hook
Plaque recording Glenside Lions Club’s contribution to this project.

The Shed at Conyngham Street was officially opened by City of Burnside Mayor Anne Monceaux on Friday 30 October 2020. The event was officiated by Burnside City CEO Chris Cowley and it was very well attended by the Shed members, Council officials, local residents and Lions from the Glenside Lions Club. Glenside Lions donated $80,000 to this community project that will benefit local residents in many ways. President Alan Hook presented the cheque of $80,000 to Mayor Anne Monceaux. There is the Shed where members meet regularly for woodworking, carpentry and other repair work. The Shed is very well equipped with many essential woodworking and carpentry equipment and power tools. There is a nursery where plants are propagated. There is also a community vegetable garden where residents plant their own vegetables and herbs. This major community project began in our Lions Centennial Year 2017 as our Centennial Project. It has taken this long from early planning stages to eventual opening.
Glenside Lions also managed the BBQ for a very popular sausage sizzle. We also had soft drinks and bottled water. It was a very festive occasion. #WeServe #lionsinternational
