Youth Leadership Camp YLC

SAPOL conducts this Youth Leadership Camp YLC for elite high school students who are nominated by their school principals to participate in a sort of boot camp for future leaders. Kids selected are high academic achievers and champion athletes. This year 24 are chosen from a field of 134 kids nominated. Gender equality is applied and also equal numbers from metro and country areas. The 6 day program is supervised by volunteers from the police and paramedics. Training is conducted at the Echunga Police training reserve, Mount Lofty and beaches. Glenside Lions are one of the sponsors of this camp. T-shirts won by participants have our Lions logo on the back. The Youth Leadership Camp provides an environment to develop South Australia’s future leaders through interaction with outstanding individuals and high achieving members of South Australia Police and other leading organisations within our community.
