Glenside Lions donated $5000 to SPELD SA in March. The name SPELD stands for SPEcific Learning Difficulties. SPELD SA is a non-profit organisation that provides advice and services to children and adults with specific learning difficulties and those who care for, teach, and work with them. SPELD SA was founded in 1969. SPELD SA is run by a council, whose members include parents, teachers, accountants, lawyers, psychologists, optometrists, doctors, speech pathologists and other interested professionals. Consultations are offered as a service to parents of children who are struggling at school, even if the children have not been diagnosed with a learning difficulty, and adults concerned about their own learning difficulties. Our specialist teaching staff offer a 1 hour session to discuss concerns about difficulties with learning and offer strategies, information and advice.
